ABOUT PAUL
From the opening line that grabs ahold and never lets go to the witty turn of phrase worthy of a chuckle, I appreciate a good story well told. Needless to say, writing for a living is nothing short of a dream gig.
I've handled assignments for dozens of magazines, newspapers, trade journals, and other publications. My words have appeared, in print or online, in National Geographic, The Atlantic, Popular Science, Men's Health, Psychology Today, Backpacker, Outdoor Life, The Saturday Evening Post, Writer's Digest, NPR, and elsewhere. I’ve also written for nonprofits, educational institutions, creative agencies, and brands. Along the way, I have received generous support in the form of fellowship and grant awards from the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Council for the Advancement of Science Writing, National Association of Science Writers, and Outdoor Writers Association of America. |
EDITORS SAY . . .
"He knows how to craft a story—making it interesting, entertaining and informative."
Before embarking on a freelance writing career, I pursued my passion for the written word by studying literature and creative writing. From there, I had the pleasure of teaching, tutoring, and advising at the college level. Nowadays, I put many of those same writing tips and strategies to use on a daily basis.
When I'm not hard at work, you might find me sipping on a good cup of coffee, enjoying some quality family time, or greeting Mother Nature by foot, bike, kayak, ski, or snowshoe in Wisconsin's beautiful Northwoods.
